Girls Interested in Firefighting—Camp Ignite

3/12/2015

Our goal is to welcome young women between the ages of 16-18 and give them an introduction to our very exciting and challenging career over a weekend. This camp is organized and run by professional female and male firefighters on behalf of municipalities throughout the Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley area. During the camp the camp participants will be introduced to firefighting and rescue skills, participate in team building activities, receive first aid training and receive a CPR level A certificate.

This year’s program will take place from August 6th to August 19h, 2015 in a similar vein as last year’s program including Vancouver, Coquitlam, Delta and Maple Ridge Fire’s training facilities. We are aiming to have 20 High School aged girls take part in Camp Ignite for 2014.

The application form is attached here with a closing date of May 21, 2015. Please have all interested students submit their applications by mail or email to Derek Christiansen at dchristiansen@delta.ca .
