Apply online: http://bit.ly/campvol2015 Volunteers are expected to commit to at least one week of volunteering for our summer camp program (Volunteer hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30pm – 4:30pm, two-week commitment preferred). All volunteers are required to attend a training day prior to volunteering. Volunteers will be supervised by the summer camp teachers and camp leaders (UBC undergraduate students). Responsibilities of volunteers include: assisting camp teachers and camp leaders in running camp activities setting up before activities and cleaning up after activities interacting with and supervising campers helping maintain a safe and positive camp environment at all times Eligibility: We are accepting students who are currently in/completing grades 10-12, as well as first year university students (although priority will be given to high school students). Suitable candidates will be invited to attend an interview on campus. Qualities we look for: We are looking for volunteers who… are interested in science and engineering enjoy working with kids (experience working with kids is an asset) are independent and reliable but also able to work as part of a team Future Global Leaders is a summer program for high school students at the University of British Columbia's Vancouver campus designed for teens ages 15-18 who want to get a head start on their futures. This pre-university intensive program helps high school students develop the critical skills required for success in an academic and professional environment and encourages them to aspire to be leaders in our increasingly global world.
You choose from eight two-week summer courses and have the option to stay in a UBC campus residence during the program or commute to campus daily. Opening reception begins at 7 pm Awards presentation at 7:30 pm The show is located in the Main Foyer of “A” Building at Langara College, 100 West 49th Avenue, Vancouver. Food and refreshments will be at the opening. If you cannot make the opening, the show will run until April 29th weekdays from 8 am to 9 pm, and from 9 am to 7 pm on Saturday and Sunday. 5:00pm-8:45pm
