Visiting Quest: The best way to learn about Quest is to experience it. If you havent had the opportunity to visit us, we encourage you to do so. We are offering partial travel grants for educators to attend our [ http://www.questu.ca/plan_a_visit.html ]Preview Events starting in September until March. This is a great opportunity to see our campus, sit in on a class and speak with our students. Various Dates Students can register for a Summer Warm-Up Session and beat the line-ups for student cards, gym memberships, parking passes, and more. viu.ca/newstudents/summerWarmUp.asp September 3rd Rock the VIU: New Student Orientation. A fun day of activities where students get connected with each other, faculty, and service & support services on campus. International students are also required to register and attend International Student Welcome on Friday, September 4th from 9am - 1pm. Registration can be completed at the same time as registration for Rock the VIU. Students can register at viu.ca/orientation Ongoing Ready, Set, Go- Launchpad for Success @VIU. As you know, this is especially important for students who plan to transfer to a University! The events will be held on June 9th at the Coquitlam Campus, and June 10th at the New Westminster Campus, from 6:00-7:00pm. All of them require financial need, and you must be able to explain what that need is. Otherwise, the four are: Leadership Award: How have you contributed to school connectedness and belonging? How have you increased the capacity of another through mentoring? Community Service and Volunteerism: Describe your history of volunteerism and its impact. Jackie Brown Memorial: Tell us about your decision to learn a trade, and describe your goals. Social Justice Award: NOTE—for students going in to criminology, youth work, social work, child youth mental health, etc. What does social justice mean to you? Have you overcome adversity and what has that taught you?
