KPU Fall 2016 Applications Open Nov 1

10/22/2015

KPU's application for the Fall 2016 intake will open on November 1st, 2015. Students apply on the ApplyBC portal by going to kpu.ca/apply.

Below we answer some frequently asked questions from high school students and counsellors:
  • Do I need to apply on November 1 right at midnight?
    • Not necessarily, it depends on the category of program you are applying for.

Open Intake programs: students who meet their faculty's admission requirements will be accepted to the faculty as long as they apply by the application deadline.

Limited Intake programs: some programs are first-qualified-first-admitted, some are competitive based on GPA, some are competitive based on a portfolio or interview. Students should check their individual program for specific requirements.

Vocational programs (Trades Foundations): applications are continuous, and students should apply as early as possible to be put into the next available intake.

  • How much does it cost to apply?
    • One-time fee of $40 for Canadian citizens and permanent residents, and $120 for international students.

  • Can I apply if I am taking English 12 in semester 2?
    • Yes, KPU will verify your English 12 and other marks in May and July with the Ministry.

  • What do I apply to if I cannot choose which faculty/program I am interested in?
    • Under each Faculty, you can select "Exploratory/Unknown" if you haven't decided on an area of study. This allows you to be a general student within that Faculty and declare your major later.

  • Can I apply for more than one program?
    • Students can apply to up to 2 programs. However, students will only be admitted to one program. If students are admissible to their first choice, they will not be evaluated for their second choice.

  • Once I apply, can I change my program?
    • If students wish to change the program they have applied to, they will need to email admissions@kpu.ca via their myKwantlen email account.
Additional FAQs can be found here: kpu.ca/admission/faq, and we’ll be posting admission tips every week from our Twitter account @kpurecruiters#KPUTipTuesday.
