Our Central Advising Area (for those students who have applied) is also having additional drop in times to service those students with advice on the direction they need to take, courses to take, and discuss career goals and how to reach them. Developing Fashion Design Skills

A lot of students are interested in our fashion programs but not sure of how to gain some experience in these areas. Our fashion program is hosting an array of summer programs for this purpose.
2013 FASHION DESIGN AND SEWING WORKSHOPS
Fundamentals of Sewing FSDP 9006: Monday, July 8 – Friday, July 12, 9:00-2:30
Learn the basics of sewing in a fun environment. Students will learn basic techniques such as seam finishes, zippers and pockets on industrial sewing machines and produce a creative final project.
Design Workshop FSDP 9001: Tuesday, August 6 – Friday, August 9, 9:00–3:00
Students will create themes and storyboards, draw simple fashion figures, drape
fabrics for garment ideas, and practice computer drawing with Adobe Illustrator©.
Sewing Workshop FSDP 9002: Monday, August 12 – Friday, August 16, 9:30-3:00
A beginner’s sewing course for people ages 14 and up who have little or no
sewing experience and would like to learn to sew or upgrade skills and gain
experience using an industrial sewing machine.
