LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEER HOURS?
Family Fun Night is being held at Sunshine Hills Elementary on May 25th, between 4:15pm - 8:15pm. We welcome keen, responsible students grades 8-11, to join us for a volunteer shift. The shift times are 4:15-6:15pm and 6:15-8:15pm for the two hour shift or they are welcome to stay for the full four hour shift from 4:15 - 8:15pm.

TRY/CATCH 2018 is Saturday May 12th 2018 at SFU's Burnaby Campus!TRY/CATCH (Computing and Technology Conference for Her) is an exciting outreach project organized by the Women in Computing Science (WiCS) and Women in Engineering (WiE) at Simon Fraser University.
Try/CATCH 2018 is a one-day event on Saturday, May 12th for high school girls from grades 8-12, with a major objective of helping girls develop an interest in Computing Science, Engineering Science and the field of technology. Throughout the event, students participate in a variety of enriching activities focusing on developing skills in areas such as programming, robotics and other computing-related aspects. Networking is encouraged and the advantages of working in a technology field are highlighted through discussion with women mentors from industry, current female students, and representatives from technology companies.

Pedalheads is a learn to ride bike program for kids 2-12 that also offers exceptional swim and "superhero" physical skills programs. Since 1986 we have taught over 200,000 children to bike and swim using our own teaching methods combined with small classes and exceptional instructors.
For Summer, we are looking for students in grades 10-12 to apply with us as paid instructors (Must be turning at least 16 by December 31). We are also seeking volunteers from grades 8-10.

SFU Camps is currently seeking students ages 15 and above to volunteer for several of our Summer Day Camps occurring throughout July and August. Students are able to choose from a variety of camps including but not limited to; Basketball, soccer, biology, chemistry, glee, dance and outdoor adventure.
Volunteers hours students acquire this summer can be applied towards post – secondary applications, scholarships and work experience credit.

The Delta Police Recruiting Section is sponsoring an information session /P.O.P.A.T. (Police Officers Physical Abilities Test) day at the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC), 715 McBride Boulevard, New Westminster on Saturday, May 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (see the attached poster).
This event is open to high school age youth (especially those currently in grade 12) who have an interest in policing. The session will consist of a 20 minute discussion about what prospective applicants need to do to make themselves a more competitive candidate (i.e. education/employment/volunteer/ethical behavior).
The students will then have an opportunity to run the P.O.P.A.T. (Police Officers Physical Abilities Test) and participate in a competitive challenge with gift cards and other great prizes.

Autism Canada is looking for 10 students who would be interested in volunteering at their "Kids Zone" tent at the Vasaki Festival in Surrey on Saturday, April 21. Duties would include: Facepainting, Kids Games etc. The day runs from 9 am to 7 pm with volunteers serving in two shifts.
