Every year Surrey’s Salvation Army raises money for Surrey’s needy families. From November 20th through December 24th, red kettles are set up at retail locations and manned by volunteer “bell ringers” for the annual Christmas Kettle Campaign. Last year our volunteer bell ringers collected $118,000.00. Those donations supported our food and clothing programs, senior care program, referral services for vision care and addiction, provided furniture, household items, school supplies and summer camp assistance for children. We also served Christmas breakfast to 380 Surrey residents and distributed 700 Christmas hampers to low income families. We continue to see increases year after year in the numbers of people who need our help. Our goal for 2018 is to collect $145,000.00, which we can only achieve with your assistance.
We need student volunteer bell ringers. We are hoping you would be willing to ring a bell and help change a life. Student volunteers stand by a kettle for one or more 4-hour shifts at a retail location of your choice. The student application form shows the days, times and locations you can choose.
