Delta Retired Teachers Scholarship
FULL APPLICATION PACKAGE DUE: APRIL 19, 2023 (Wednesday) TO Mrs. Kaur
The Delta Retired Teachers Association is pleased to offer 1 scholarship of $1500 to one qualifying graduating Grade 12 students from secondary schools in Delta.
Each school is asked to submit all applications for this scholarship to the School Board Office. The Delta Retired Teachers Association's scholarship committee, made up of interested DRTA members-at-large, will select two successful candidates. The Delta Retired Teachers Association's scholarship committee may be in contact with the applicant's school Counsellor/Career Advisor in the selection discussion.

The successful candidate must submit proof of attendance at a post secondary institution to receive this scholarship. The scholarship will be held for 8 months following graduation. The scholarship(s) will not be awarded if there are no qualified applicants in a given year.

The successful candidate must also agree to have a photo taken with a representative of the Delta Retired Teachers Association to be published in the DRTA newsletter and local papers. As well the Delta Retired Teachers Association would like the successful candidate to write a brief account of their post-secondary plans for publication in the DRTA newsletter.

- graduate with a 'B' average in Grade 11 and 12 courses from a Delta secondary school with a minimum 'C+' in English 11 and 12
- must earn a 'G' or "S" in all Grade 11 and 12 courses
- must have been enrolled full-time in Delta School District # 37 for grades 10, 11 and 12
- must have both volunteered and provided leadership within the community and their school in Grades 11 and 12. See the Scholarship Selection Guidelines attached.

- Student Information Document
- Cover letter, explaining why you are a good candidate for this award;
- Reference letter from one of your teachers in grade 12
- Summary of your Activities and Accomplishments
- The most recent transcript of your marks.
