Students who have been offered admission to full-time studies in their first year of a degree program may request a deferral for one year. Those interested in requesting a deferral must accept their offer, and submit this form before July 15, 2016.
New first-year English course requirements
UBC has recently made changes to the Language Proficiency Index (LPI) requirement for entry to first-year English courses on the Vancouver campus. Namely, an interim/course-in-progress grade for English 12 can no longer be used to meet eligibility for first-year English. Students may refer to the First-Year English FAQ pages for a description of the requirements for the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses.
What is the UBC Collegia program?
Students who commute to university often find it more challenging to build a community on campus. Similar to a residence, the UBC Collegia program offers access to a full kitchen, plus comfortable study and socializing areas – all in a welcoming space staffed by knowledgeable peer advisors. In addition to being the go-to place to make friends, eat, study, or nap, UBC Collegia connect commuter students with faculty members and on-campus services to ease the transition to university.
