The Fellowship program is for students who will enter the first year of a full-time science undergraduate degree program. The Fellowship includes an award of $3,000 and a six-week summer research position at TRIUMF, Canada's National Laboratory for Particle and Nuclear Physics. Although very important, academic performance is only part of the review criteria; the award is intended for individuals with a passion for science, particularly physics.
You must have completed both Physics 11 and 12 upon graduation, and chemistry is also recommended. You must be entering the first year of a full-time degree program within the sciences, engineering, or mathematics.
If you want to be considered for this opportunity, please let me know. Come to the Career Centre, pick up a Brag Sheet, and submit it (completed) to me (Ms Derksen) by Tuesday, January 22, 2013. If you are nominated by the Scholarship Committee to apply to the scholarship, I will let you know.
