Applications are open until September
Douglas College programs are for the most part first qualified, first admitted and we keep our applications open right up until the Friday of the first week of class in the Fall Semester. Let your students know they can still apply and keep their options open to start post-secondary this fall. Apply now.
Future Students’ Office Services
Our monthly Information Sessions are super valuable to your students. Or if you want your students to have an experience of campus, we can organize a virtual group tour with a presentation at the end. Our team of Student Recruiters are also available to meet with prospects and talk them through their next steps. Plus, if you need more viewbooks put an order in here.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Admissions Update
High school students will still need to apply to Academic Foundations for Potential Nursing Applicants (AFN) if they want to do Nursing at Douglas College and none of the admission requirements have changed. We have reviewed our admission requirements for the BSN and decided to make some changes to increase student success in the program. These changes include an increase to GPA to 2.67 (B-) and a limit (2) on number of course attempts in the AFN program. The updates will be coming to the website soon.
Online Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation
Starting in Sept. 2021 we will be offering an online Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation. This is an exciting opportunity who may want to study Therapeutic Recreation within their community outside the lower mainland or want a more flexible study option. In addition, to increase access the program has waived the volunteer hours.
HCSW and HCA intake on hold
Both the Health Care Support Worker and Health Care Assisting intakes are on hold. Prospective students should submit an expression of interest through the Government of BC website. This is part of the government funded Health Career Access Program that will run from Summer 2021 to Winter 2022. The Government of BC will process applications and distribute program seats throughout the province. More information can be found here.
